The short version
- We collect only what we need to answer your messages and run the club.
- We never sell, rent or publish your information.
- You won’t find a single email address on this website, so spam robots that comb the web for addresses come away empty-handed here.
- Want something changed or removed? Just ask the Webmaster.

What we collect
When you send us a message from the Contact page: your name, email address and message. The computer that runs this website also notes your internet address (a number that identifies your connection) with each message, which helps us stop junk mail and pranks.
When you apply for membership: for each rider, a name, birthdate, email address, mobile phone, an emergency contact’s name and phone, the membership type and your answer to the waiver. For riders under 18 we also ask for a parent or guardian’s name.
When you list something for sale: your name, your email address, and the listing itself (what you are selling, the price, and a photo if you send one). The Secretary posts your listing. When a buyer writes to you through the website, the website emails their message to you. Your email address never appears on the website, so it can’t be picked up for spam. The listing comes down when it expires or when you ask.
When you pay dues: online payments (PayPal, Venmo, Apple Pay, debit or credit card) all go through PayPal, which handles your card or account details itself; we never see them. If you mail a check or hand your dues to an officer at a ride or meeting, it goes to the club Treasurer like any other payment.
When you just browse: nothing personal. There are no ads, no tracking cookies and no visitor analytics on this site.
How we use it
- To answer your message.
- To keep membership records, collect dues and keep track of waivers.
- To reach a rider’s emergency contact if something happens on a ride.
- To send members club news.
Who sees it
A message from the Contact page goes by email to the officer you picked (or to the club’s general contact). Membership applications go by email to the club’s officers. Officers share this information only with each other, directly by email, as needed to run the club. We don’t sell, rent, trade or publish it, and we don’t hand member lists to anyone else.
A buyer’s message about a classified listing goes by email to the seller only.
Riders under 18
We collect information about riders under 18 only as part of a family membership application, so that we can keep accurate records, cover the waiver and reach a parent or emergency contact if needed.
How long we keep it
We don’t have a set schedule for deleting old records, so emails and the information you’ve sent us may be kept for years as part of the club’s history. If you’d like yours removed, see below.
Seeing, fixing or removing your information
You can ask us what we have on file about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to remove it. Send the Webmaster a note and we’ll take care of it. (Some records, such as a signed waiver for a ride you’ve already taken, may need to stay with the club’s records.)
Outside services this site uses
Everything on our pages, including the type styles and page layout code, comes from this website’s own server. The ride calendar and news board are kept in Google Calendar and Sheets, but our server fetches them, so your browser doesn’t contact Google to show them. Links to Facebook, Ride With GPS, bike shops and other sites take you to places with their own privacy policies.
Cookies and your browser
We don’t use tracking or advertising cookies. The site does save one tiny note in your browser (how many background photos there are) so pages load a little faster. It contains nothing about you.
Keeping it safe
The information you send us through this website is stored where the public can’t get to it. Email is never perfectly private, though, so please don’t put anything like a card or bank number in a message.
Terms of Use
Using this site
This site is here to share club news, rides and resources with members and the public. We work to keep it accurate, but it’s run by volunteers, so details such as ride times, routes and prices can change. When it matters, check with the ride leader or an officer.
Riding with us
Cycling has real risks, and taking part in any club ride is your own choice. Ride within your ability, wear a helmet and follow the traffic laws. Membership includes a waiver of liability, and its terms apply to club rides. See Membership for details.
Links to other sites
We link to other sites because we think they’re useful, but we don’t control them and aren’t responsible for what’s on them.
Photos and content
Text and photos on this site belong to the club or to the members who shared them. Please ask before reusing them. Photos in our gallery are shown as fresh copies with the hidden camera details (such as where a photo was taken) removed. If you’re in a photo here and would like it taken down, let the Webmaster know.
Messages you send us
Please keep messages courteous. We may ignore or delete messages that are abusive, spam or unrelated to the club.
Changes
If we change this page, we’ll update the date at the top.
